Perched on a total area of 37 km2 (land 17 km2, sea 20 km2), the Weihai marine biotech industrial park is positioned to upgrade and innovate the industrial verticals through deepening international exchanges, highlighting industrial cooperation and creating an international demonstration zone.
In conformity with China’s prioritized strategies of promoting “One Belt and One Road” and Sino-Korea Free Trade Area, this tract is implemented by Rongcheng City, availing the synergies of gaining ground in industrial clusters. The 3 gathering areas of marine medical food, biopharmaceuticals, and marine bio-materials provide good templates for the encouragement of sci-tech companies and the promotion of lab research and production partnerships in using and optimizing marine resources.
Governmental schemes are put in place for operationalizing of the incentives to different marine biotech establishments located in the whole cluster, whose diverse array of products creates healthy competition and eco-friendly growth. Committed to facilitating business-driven research and development, the clusters highlight the characteristics of transforming marine resources into higher value products in a cost effective manner and developing a well-defined framework of marine biotechnology.
