5,636 enterprises and institutions in Shandong participate in the 3rd CIIE

The 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened in Shanghai on the evening of November 4. According to the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, Shandong business group has a total of 5,636 registered enterprises and institutions, and 18,716 registered individuals, the fourth largest group in China.

The 3rd CIIE consists of Enterprises & Business Exhibition and Hongqiao Int'l Economic Forum. The business exhibition, with a total exhibition area of 360,000 square meters, includes six exhibition sections, namely food and agricultural products, medical equipment & healthcare products, trade in services, consumer goods, automobile, intelligent industry & information technology; four newly set special subsections, namely public health and epidemic prevention, energy conservation and environmental protection, smart transportation, and sports goods; and people-to-people exchange and exhibition activities.

Shandong, attaching great importance to CIIE, has built with careful arrangement a “1+16+2” organizational system comprising a provincial business group, 16 sub-groups of 16 cities, and 2 sub-groups of the Health Commission of Shandong Province and the Stated-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shandong Provincial People’s Government, under direct provincial administration; and carried out professional visitors registration. As of the registration deadline, 5,636 enterprises and institutions and 18,716 individuals registered in Shandong, which is the fourth largest registration nationwide, following Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang. Registered individuals in six cities in Shandong, including Jinan, Qingdao, Weifang, Zibo, Yantai, and Linyi, exceed 1,000.
