Shandong provincial capital economic circle’s GDP reaches 2.74 trillion yuan in 2020

According to the promotion meeting and second joint meeting of Shandong provincial capital economic circle held on Feb.6, in 2020, the GDP of the provincial capital economic circle reached 2.7466 trillion yuan, and the integrated development achieved a comprehensive breakthrough.

It is an important strategic decision made by the provincial Party committee and the provincial government to promote the coordinated development of the three economic circles of the provincial capital, Jiaodong and southern Shandong. Since the first joint meeting, the 7 cities of the provincial capital economic circle have taken measures to overcome the great pressure brought by the epidemic prevention and control and the economic downturn, and made great progress in economic and social development. In 2020, the provincial capital economic circle achieved a GDP of 2.7466 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.8 percent and 0.2 percentage points higher than the province’s growth rate, ranking first among the three economic circles. It’s worth noting that Jinan entered the trillion-yuan list for the first time, which is a historic breakthrough, making its primacy ratio significantly improved. At the same time, the 7 cities and relevant provincial departments have coordinated and interacted with each other to improve the working mechanism, create new cooperation paths, and push forward integrated development in an all-round way.

Infrastructure connectivity in the provincial capital economic circle has been accelerated. The Jinan-Tai’an Expressway and Jinan-Qihe Highway have been rebuilt and opened to traffic. The construction of Jinan-Zhengzhou and Jinan-Binzhou high-speed railways have been accelerated. Eight intercity bus routes including Jinan-Tai’an, Jinan-Liaocheng and Jinan-Qihe routes have been put into operation. Industrial coordination has been accelerated in the provincial capital economic circle, with 27 Goose Queue clusters and 38 leading enterprises of the top industries cultivated. The Science and Technology Innovation Alliance and Qilu Science and Technology Innovation Corridor were built, and the exchange of “innovation coupons” went available. The integration of cultural and tourism resources has been accelerated. The Cultural and Tourism Integrative Cooperation Alliance and the golden tourism route featuring “one mountain, one river and one sage” were built, and the annual preferential card of Mount Tai was issued with the same identical treatment for both Jinan and Tai’an residents. The sharing of public service has been sped up. T-union card was issued for citizens of the 7 cities, and enterprises’ business can be handled in the whole economic circle. The Pharmaceutical (Consumable) Purchasing Alliance of Public Medical Institutions was established. At present, the integrated development of the provincial capital economic circle has taken a big step forward and stands on a new starting point.
