ASEAN session of “Connecting Shandong with Fortune Global 500” event series held in Jinan

On Sept. 22, the ASEAN session of “Connecting Shandong with Fortune Global 500” event series was successfully held in Jinan, capital of Shandong province. 10 key foreign investment projects were signed online, with a total investment of $1.01 billion and a contractual foreign investment of $115 million.

This year, despite the impact of the pandemic, economic and trade exchanges between ASEAN and Shandong continue to grow, and ASEAN has become Shandong’s largest trading partner. The ASEAN session is the second of the five sessions of the “Connecting Shandong with Fortune Global 500” event series and was held through a combination of online and offline channels, where 11 important guests from 7 countries had extensive communication and discussion with Shandong provincial leaders and enterprises on the theme of “Deepen Communication and Achieve Win-win Cooperation”, jointing promoting the deepening of bilateral cooperation.

At the session, 10 key foreign investment projects were signed online with a total investment of $1.01 billion and a contractual foreign investment of $115 million. These projects are located in 9 cities of Shandong province, namely Qingdao, Zibo, Zaozhuang, Dongying, Yantai, Weifang, Jining, Tai'an, and Heze, and involve a variety of industries including medical care, modern agriculture, equipment manufacturing, high-end chemicals, new materials and modern service.

After the session at Jinan main venue, supporting exchange activities were held at branch venues in Qingdao, Zibo, Zaozhuang, Dongying, and Yantai, organizing communication and negotiation between local enterprises and Fortune Global 500 multinationals.
