2021 Shandong-Israel Industrial Exchange Activities launched in Qingdao

On March 30, 2021, the launching ceremony of Shandong-Israel Industrial Exchange Activities and Shandong-Israel Medical and Healthcare Industry Cooperation Seminar was held in Qingdao International Business Club (Qingdao).

The event was jointly held by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-council and the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce (FICC), Israel's largest business association organization. A total of nearly 500 people from 30 Israeli companies and 141 companies, institutions, and hospitals in Shandong province attended the conference on-site or by video, to exchange views on the cooperation between Shandong and Israel in the field of medicine and healthcare.

Yu Fenggui, chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-council, said in his opening speech that Shandong has always attached great importance to the cooperation with Israel, well-known for its technological innovation and research & development capabilities. The two sides have extensive cooperation in the fields of agriculture, science and technology, medicine, and intelligent manufacturing. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Shandong’s trade with Israel last year reached $1.16 billion, an increase of 4.3%.

On the ceremony, the National Offshore Innovation and Entrepreneurship Workstation for Overseas Talents was held, and certificates were issued to the first batch of talents admitted to the “Talent Pool for China-Israel Medical Cooperation”. This year, Shandong and Israel will continue to hold special cooperation seminars in various fields such as agriculture, healthcare, water technology, and intelligent manufacturing.
